California, US-based LUMEnergi, which develops network-controlled lighting energy management systems, has raised US$6.2m (£4m, euro 4.8m) in an extension of its second round of venture capital. The move was led by Braemar Energy Ventures, Noventi Ventures and Low Carbon Accelerator.
Founded in 2008, LUMEnergi develops systems for demand response and automatic load shedding for commercial buildings.
Its technology provides 'smooth dimming' and real-time reporting that supports daylight harvesting, scheduling, 'task tuning' and occupancy sensing.
The company claims building lighting energy efficiency can be increased by up to 70 per cent through the use of its technology, through its integration with current lighting and customisation with usage patterns, workspaces, and daylight harvesting.
LUMEnergi's NetLight Driver product - an intelligent, universal dimming ballast - was recently voted Building Operating Management 2012 Top Product winner.
